On May 25 - 26, 2022, the Center for Vietnamese and ASEAN Studies invites You to take part in international scientific conference, commemorating to the 55th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The event to be held at the IFES RAS in collaboration with the ASEAN Centre in MGIMO-University, the MFA of Russia. The conference is included in the action plan of the ASEAN-Russia year of scientific and technical cooperation by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. 

Participants are invited to discuss the results of the ASEAN construction and participation of new members from the perspective of convergence of two disparate systems with an emphasis on the current stage. The discussion will touch on issues such as the ASEAN relations with major powers and dialogue partners as well as efforts to create a regional security architecture. It is expected to cover aspects of the processes that determine the future development prospects of the countries of the region – digitalization, climate and environmental changes, the preservation of cultural identity, and the management of migration flows in the ASEAN countries

The working languages are Russian and English. The conferences will be hybrid either in person or online.

The conference will be held in the hall of the Academic Council of the Institute of the Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 25. Address: Moscow, Nakhimovskypr-t, 32, metro Profsoyuznaya.
