XXI выпуск включает статьи сотрудников нескольких исследовательских Центров ИДВ РАН, а также приглашенных специалистов из научно-образовательных и практических структур. Его особенностью стал углубленный анализ различных сторон деятельности Шанхайской организации сотрудничества (ШОС) в свете ее 15-летнего юбилея и рассмотрение международных процессов, связанных с выдвижением китайской инициативы «Один пояс - один путь».
В сборнике продолжено изучение проблемы сопряжения проекта «Экономический пояс Шелкового пути» с ШОС и Евразийским экономическим союзом (ЕАЭС), характеризуются некоторые стороны активности КНР на международно-региональном уровне и в формате двусторонних отношений. Ряд статей посвящен таким актуальным темам, как вопросы евразийского экономического сотрудничества, российско-китайское взаимодействие, политическая и экономическая безопасность в Евразии, структуры БРИКС и РИК, роль Китая в формировании экономического региона на пространстве Центральной Азии и др. Книга содержит статью и по истории российско-китайских связей – о становлении школы российских китаеведов-переводчиков.

This annual publication - a collection of articles "China in the World and Regional Politics (History and Modernity)" is devoted to the analysis of the most pressing issues of foreign policy and foreign economic relations of China.
XXIst edition comprises articles written by specialists from several research centers of the IFES RAS and invited experts from a number of scientific and practical structures as well. Special feature of this year's collection is an in-depth analysis of various aspects of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s activities in the light of its 15th anniversary as well as multidimensional consideration of international processes related to the initiation of the Chinese "One Belt, One Road" mega-project.
The issue continues the study of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" project and its probable conjugation with the SCO and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Consideration is also given to some aspects of China's activity in the international and regional level and in the format of bilateral relations. A number of articles is devoted to such burning topics as Eurasian economic cooperation, Russian-Chinese interaction, political and economic security in Eurasia, BRICS and RIC structures, China's role in the economic arena of Central Asia and others. The collection includes an article on the history of Russian sinology concerning establishment of the school of Russian sinologists-translators.
